I regularly receive emails, letters and calls from residents about parking fines.

I have always fought for a common sense and fair approach to parking enforcement practices. If you believe a fine was issued unfairly or incorrectly, you can have your fine reconsidered by writing:

1. firstly, to State Debt Recovery Office PO Box 786 Strawberry Hills 2012; and

2. secondly, to Ryde Council’s Adjudication Panel (if you are dissatisfied with the State Debt Recovery Office’s decision) Locked Bag 2069 North Ryde 1670.

You should explain why you consider the fine was issued incorrectly or unfairly.

As a tip, most people fail to have their fines overturned by the State Debt Recover Office, but have had better success with the Council Adjudication Panel. But the Panel will only consider the appeal after the State Debt Recover Office has made a decision. So residents are advised to try both avenues.
