Local, Familiar & Experienced, Justin Li is your safe choice for Ryde Council’s West Ward by-election on 15 October 2022.

JUSTIN LI (aka the Human of Eastwood) is a familiar face to many in the local community having served as a City of Ryde councillor from 2008 to 2017 representing West Ward, and as founder of popular local social media channel Humans of Eastwood.

From 2012 to 2014, Justin served as Ryde’s Deputy Mayor, the first person of Asian descent to hold that post in Ryde’s history.

Originally an immigrant from Hong Kong, he has lived in Eastwood for over 20 years now. Justin attended Eastwood Heights Public School and Normanhurst Boys High School where he was dux of Year 12.

Justin is Christian and works as a corporate lawyer today.

Justin answered the call of his local community to contest in the 15 October Ryde Council by-election for his old west ward Council seat in order to provide an experienced pair of hands to serve residents. As he told the local paper TWT:

“Although many people have asked me to return to public office since retiring from Ryde Council in 2017, I have regularly declined – up until now. What’s different this time is the unusual situation created by this sudden by-election. With less than two years left in the current Council term, I agreed that our community needed someone experienced who can hit the ground running from day one to deliver for Ryde.”

If elected, Justin will join Ryde Liberal’s united and energetic team to:

1. Keep council rates low to tackle cost of living

2. Protect TG Millner field from over development

3. Finish installing traffic lights at Eastwood’s busy intersections

Vote 1 for Justin Li on 15 October 2022 – your safe choice for Ryde Council!

Community work
